Dear Sirs,
I would like to extend a warm welcome to prospective investors who have an interest in Toruń – one of Poland's best-known cities and a prime location for business undertakings.
As a city that is open to new ideas and projects, Toruń offers a wealth of development opportunities for investors. Toruń's main assets include its convenient location, a highly qualified workforce, well-developed technical infrastructure and a social climate that supports new investments.
In an ongoing effort to stimulate and maintain the city's sustained economic growth, nearly PLN 330 million has been allocated to investments in the 2010 budget, including more than PLN 160 million for municipal and district road projects (of which more than PLN 80 million will be channeled to the construction of a new bridge with access roads). Other vital projects scheduled to begin this year include the construction of a sports and spectator hall and a concert hall.
Toruń has prepared a diverse offer for investors which is regularly expanded to include new locations. To date, 13 developed and undeveloped land plots with total area in excess of 100 ha have been zoned for investment purposes. A local zoning plan covering 43% of the city's area (excluding water reservoirs and forests) has been developed. Toruń is open to new investments in the area of services, culture promotion, tourism, in particular hotels, retail and service facilities, as well as high-tech and environmentally-friendly industrial projects.
